11 July marks the end of the transition period during which it was possible to import from Russia or export to this country certain sanctioned products in accordance with contracts signed before introduction of sanctions

These changes will also affect private persons that cross the border for tourism or other purposes. From Monday onward private persons will no longer be allowed to import or export certain goods.

Among the banned goods are used and new furniture and their spare parts, wood materials and other products made from wood, potassium-containing fertilizers, new pneumatic tires, cement, caviar, glass bottles and other items.

It is also prohibited to import alcoholic beverages from Russia, such as vodka, gin or liquor regardless of volumes.

As previously reported, the middle of June the EU imposed sanctions against Russian iron, steel and black metal transit through EU member states. Now the list is expanded further with cement and alcohol. From August onward it will not be allowed to transport coal, and from December onward it will not be allowed to transport petrol products.
